Some may call her Gatekeeper, but Amy Bodenner is so much more than your typical executive assistant. With decades of customer service experience in restaurants, Amy provides a unique perspective and positive spin in the meeting rooms and hallways of Tigerpaw.
She's always quick to offer a smile, helping hand and/or snuggle from one of her sugar gliders all the while completing all of her millions of task plus keeping Tigerpaw leadership organized and on point. We don't know how she does it, but she does it all.
Learn more about Amy in our next installment of Tiger Tales in which we highlight members of Team Tigerpaw:
How long have you worked at Tigerpaw and what brought you here?
I have been at Tigerpaw since April 2017. I knew James and Laura Foxall from Brownell Talbot. Our sons went to school together. Actually, James and I were “roller-coaster buddies” when we served as chaperones on a school trip that took us to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. I truly believe a company’s culture is a direct reflection of its leadership. Knowing James and Laura, who wouldn’t want to work for Tigerpaw?
How does your extensive experience in the restaurant business translate to working at Tigerpaw?
I have worked in the restaurant industry for longer than you will ever get me to admit! As a managing partner I had to be focused on every aspect of the restaurant. Out of all the hats I wore on a daily basis, company culture, developing my team and building lasting relationships with my guests were the ones I was most passionate about. Tigerpaw's core values and business philosophy fall right into those three areas, which made it an easy transition.
What does your typical day look like?
Typical day? Ha! There is no typical day for me, no two days are ever the same. Usually, my time is spent juggling a lot of schedules, answering emails and making sure the tigers are well fed. I enjoy the randomness. Herding tigers is my speciality.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I don’t think I could come up with just one favorite! So here just a few of the things I love:
- I love Tigerpaw’s culture and the people that work here.
- I love our core values and the fact that we live and breathe them on a daily basis.
- I love that there is constantly laughter in the building ... like the full-belly-laugh-that-makes-your-sides-hurt kind of laughter.
- I love that we work hard and have a whole lot of fun while doing it.
- I love that we are a Traction shop and the quality of work that comes out of it.
When you aren't at Tigerpaw, what are you most likely doing?
When not at Tigerpaw you can find me having the ultimate car dance party when stuck in traffic, spending time with a husband who puts up with my crazy, sending care packages to my Marine son and Christmas shopping in a full elf costume. I also like finding opportunities to serve people in the community. Currently, I am the youth leader at Meadows Church and a TeamMates mentor.
BONUS QUESTION: Little known facts about yourself?
I have never made it through the National Anthem without tearing up. Oh, and pretty sure I could survive on Thin Mints.
